FORMER CLEANER SPIT AT SUPERVISOR AFTER ARGUMENT, JAILED 2 WEEKS

Kang Poh Kim, 70-years-old, was sentenced to 2 weeks imprisonment on 2 December after being convicted of one count of using criminal force by spitting at his supervisor.

What happened?

Kang was a cleaner who was deployed at Tuas Link MRT station who was instructed on 30 July by his supervisor, a 50-year-old woman, to sanitise areas at the concourse.

Kang refused and raised his voice at her, to which the victim ignored him and cleaned the area for him before complaining to the management of his behaviour.

Later in the day, she brought him to the storeroom to change out of his uniform after telling him that he would be transferred to another location.

Kang then confronted her while she was performing her cleaning dutires and spat at her face, to which the supervisor of the area stepped in.
