FRIDAY PRAYERS SET TO RESUME, WITH MAXIMUM 50 PAX PER SESSION

According to a media release, Muslims will be able to return to mosque for Friday prayers starting from this coming Friday (26 Jun). According to the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), mosque will provide 2 half-hour prayer session with a half-hour interval between and 50 pax per session to ensure that safe crowd management is in place.

The announcement comes after the Ministry of Culture Community and Youth announced that congregational and other worship services may resume on the 26 Jun 2020 provided that circuit breaker measures are observed.

Congregants are required to make a reservation for prayer places via an online booking system at ourmosques.commonspaces.sg. Those people without any reservation will not be allowed into the mosque.

Each person will only be allowed to book for 1 Friday prayer slot in every 3 weeks, this is to ensure that more people are able to get a chance to perform their Friday prayers at a mosque.

Precautions Measures:

Sermons and prayers will be kept at a maximum of 20 mins, Imams will stand 2m away from the first row and wears a face shield while delivering the sermons. All congregants will be required to observed safe distancing while praying. they will be required to check-in and out of the mosque using SafeEntry using their IDs.

Congregants are required to wear a mask at all time while in the mosque. Congregants who are 60 and above or below 12 are strongly discouraged to attend a Friday prayer session during this period of time.
