FRIEND BLAMES TECHNOLOGY FOR THE REASON FOR TURNING UP LATE, WHAT AN EXCUSE

My friend is incorrigible. She has missed flights, ferries and woke up late for exams, weddings and of course outings. Her phone is always on silent mode which is why when our friend group takes turns calling her mobile, she can’t hear the alarm.

It has gotten to a point when we’re all frustrated with meeting her because we have to waste time trying to contact her, wait 2-3 hours for her to arrive and her tardiness never improves.

Since Christmas is coming soon, we are planning to get a practical gift that will help her overcome this. Is there a smart alarm clock that can be set remotely by an app? She can give control to whoever she’s meeting the next day, so that her friends/family can set the wake up time for her and ensure she’s on time. Please help, thank you.

TLDR: Friend is always late. We want to get her a practical gift – an alarm clock that can be set by an app, controlled by people remotely..

Here are what netizens think:

  • My phone is always on silent but my alarm is not. Call volume, media volume, ring volume and alarm volume all can be control separately.
  • The only way for her to learn is when she realised that she has lost friends because of her lack of respect for other people’s time. Next time when she’s late, just leave without her. Can still jio her for stuff of course, but don’t wait.
  • Yes. It’s difficult to be late during the era of technology. It’s just attitude problem. And you guys have been too lenient
  • Invite her as usual, proceed with activity once it’s the meeting time. No excuses for anyone to be late. There’s no need to set an alarm for her bruh, she’s not a 3 year old kid.
