Aight, here’s my thing to get off my chest.
I (M28) get so annoyed when my friends complain to me about being broke all the time. But I’ll see them post on their Instagrams all these dishes that look mid af.
Like, good for you, you went out and spent sixty dollars on a single one inch piece of salmon on a bed of rice. For sixty bucks, I can make six dishes like that at home.
I dunno if it’s just that cooking at home is a lost art, but god damn. why don’t you just do it and stop being broke?

- I had a roommate like that once. She got takeout 5 or 6 nights a week, then complained about being broke and gaining weight. We were cordial, but not friends, and she paid her part of the rent on time, so I just made vaguely sympathetic noises when she complained to me and figured it wasn’t my business.

- I have a friend like that. Filed for bankruptcy being -$40k in credit card debt (never owned a house or business). Asked to borrow money at least once a month, then Id see him getting crabs and eating good food. Had to stop lending him borrow money after the amount needed to borrow got greater and so did the time he can pay it back
