A man was sentenced to jail after assaulting his wife several times.
The man has been held in remand since Jan 10, he was sentenced to 16 weeks jail
The Malaysian couple came to Singapore to work and support their families back home
Here is what happen:
26-year-old, Malaysian national Mohamad Syafiq punched his wife in the face injuring her eyes and lips and even took a pair of scissors and held it against her face before cutting her hair.
The wife screams in terror before running into the landlord’s room to seek refuge.
He is also accused of grabbing her cheek, stepping on her and poking her eyes in the public.
The first incident started in July 2021, after a dispute with is wife Syafiq punched his wife in the face and leaving a bruise on her eye.
In October, he got into an argument with his wife again and punched his wife in the face again, this time injuring her lips.
Earlier this year, while the woman was sleeping Syafiq punched her face again and shouted at her before leaving the room and returning with a pair of scissors.
She hold her while cutting her hair, while the woman was screaming in terror. The landlord heard the noise and came to knock on their door.
The victim took the chance to escape from his clutches and ran to the landlord’s room to hide.
