
An employee working at a fish farm located at Lim Chu Kang was jailed after he attacked his co-worker with a mallet that is meant to kill fish. Although the mallet does not have a metallic surface it still can deal substantial damage to a person.
Earlier today 35-year-old Saw Paing Soe Thu (Myanmar national) was sentenced to 1 year and 1-month in jail after he attacked his colleague Aung Win Htut with a dangerous weapon.
Months before the incident happened Saw Paing Soe Thu and Aung Win Htut had a dispute because Aung was walking around naked on the farm.
The incident happened on 9 April 2021, Aung Win Htut was again walking around naked because he was going for a shower. Saw Piang Soe Thu was not happy and felt uneasy for his co-worker walking around without clothes on.
Saw Piang Soe Thu who just drank some wine went to retrieved a mallet meant to process fish and bash the head of his co-worker on the head which lead to Aung Win Htut falling and bleeding.
Aung Win Htut did not retaliate and he contacted his boss which alerted the Police. Aung Win Htut was later sent to Ng Teng Fond hospital for treatment.
