Company rescind job offer
Hi all, was just informed that the company that I applied for rescinded their offer after I signed the contract.
I was offered a job position after applying through an agency by them. As such, I verbally asked over the phone with the agent that once I accept this offer, I would turn down any other job offers and interviews that I currently have, which subsequently I did.
Moving forward, the agent called me and that the company “changed business directions.” The issue is that I’ve already turned down offers and interviews for this company because I assumed that signing the contract would mean that I already secured a position.
Is there anything I can do? or do I just basically suck it up and go back to square 1 to look for new jobs. I don’t think I can go back to the other companies looking for the other jobs.
The starting date of the job was in less than 3 weeks.
Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

- I think you just have to start the job search again.
This is why I always tell people to take care of themselves first. Accept offer already just continue your ongoing interviews and accept multiple offers if you get them.
Companies treat us as disposable bodies, we should not hesitate to accept an offer then rescind too. - just have to start all over again..
when the companies makes an offer for you, don’t be afraid to tell the companies that you need a couple more days to consider as you’re waiting for another offer and then reject them later after you’ve compared the offers and signed on the contract.
most people are afraid that doing so will ‘offend’ the HR and they will blacklist you or something when you reapply subsequently but if you’re worth your salt, they will reach out to you around 1 year later to ask if you wanna explore any opportunities with them.
