I’m sure many people can relate to this: You’re in a relationship and your partner goes out to JB with their friends for a night out.
You’re not too happy about it and you’re suspicious about what they’re doing there. You’re not wrong to think this, as you know that they drink when they’re there and they always stay overnight. It’s a situation that has been happening for months and all you want is a proper answer.
I was in this exact situation.
I had been with my boyfriend for a few years and every other week, he and his friends would go to JB for a night out. They would always stay overnight and I was suspicious about what they were doing there. I had asked him about it many times but he either evaded my question or gave me a vague answer.
I was getting increasingly frustrated and I wanted to find out the truth.
After months of being in the dark, my suspicions were finally confirmed. My boyfriend and his friends were drinking heavily in JB. They were also gambling and engaging in other activities that I didn’t want him to be part of. I was angry and disappointed that he had hidden this from me for so long.
I understand why my boyfriend and his friends go to JB. It’s a popular destination for nightlife activities and the drinks are cheaper than in Singapore. But I don’t understand why they have to stay overnight. I know they are drinking and I worry that they might do something reckless and irresponsible when they are intoxicated. I don’t want my boyfriend to get into any trouble and I want him to be safe.
I have tried to talk to my boyfriend about it and he has been very understanding. He has agreed to limit his visits to JB and has promised to be more responsible when he does go. He has also assured me that he will not stay overnight anymore. But even with this assurance, I still worry about what he’s doing when he’s there.
It’s not easy to be in a relationship when your partner does something that you don’t approve of. It’s even harder when you don’t know the full extent of what they are doing.
I understand why my boyfriend and his friends go to JB, but I still don’t understand why they must stay overnight. I just hope that he will keep his promise and be more responsible when he goes out.
