GIRL JAYWALKING AND LOOKING AT PHONE, ALMOST SENT TO THE NETHERWORLD

A video emerged online showing a girl jaywalking across the road and using her phone at the same time, not looking out for traffic.

The girl didn’t notice a car heading towards her and almost got run over but thankfully the driver was alert and swerved away from her just in time to avoid a collision.

THe incident happened on 15 December at around 12.52 pm along Upper Bukit Timah Road.

Potential penalties

Persons found guilty of jaywalking face a fine of $50 for their first offence; repeat offenders face a fine of up to $1,000 and/or a jail term of up to 3 months.
