A video emerged online showing a Mercedes Benz beating the red light and as a result, getting hit by another car at a traffic junction.

The incident happened on 15 December at around 1.15pm, along Choa Chu Kang Drive.
The offending vehicle, a Marcedes Benz, was seen accelerating and beating the red light as a Hyundai Ioniq taxi was driving across at the time.
The taxi didn’t see the offending Merc in time and ended up crashing into the Mercedes.
Potential penalties
Persons found guilty of beating a red light face a fine of $400 as well as 12 demerit points; while drivers of heavy vehicles who beat the red light face a fine of $500 and 12 demerit points.
