I met this guy in a dating app nine months ago and after meeting a few times, we just got too attached and decided to get together under one roof. mind you that during our first date, we laid out everything that could be a deal-breaker. none of the things he mentioned broke the deal for me despite him mentioning that he isn’t mentally healthy. he gave me a list that consisted of depression and anxiety but what got my attention was that he is supposed to have a multiple personality disorder. my insensitive ass laughed about it in my mind and ignored it because I don’t believe in it at all.
I brought him to a psychiatrist after seeing him act like a completely different person right in front of me but the doctor said it was still debatable since there’s no proof of the disorder itself yet but confirmed his depression and diagnosed him schizophrenic instead. my guy doesn’t hurt me and he loves me dearly but I don’t know what to do when he suddenly acts like a 2-year-old in public or speak fluent Russian despite him being full Chinese! everything else is fine between us but it scares the heck out of me when “somebody else” inside comes out!
His body has scars that look like from cutting himself or stab wounds but claims he doesn’t remember any of it and that he hates the idea.

I’m glad he was transparent about his condition to you, but I’m baffled why you laughed it off and didn’t think it was serious? Schizophrenia is serious. If he’s on medication, make sure he takes it. He may become violent if he stops and might harm himself or other ppl.
