So I have recently began using dating apps, and the inexperienced me recently stumbled across a brick wall.
I matched w this girl that was superrrrrrrrr pretty (and I could tell that she def gets a lot of matches) and ended up getting ghosted after like not even a few days (yes, very sad I know).
I mean, it was the first time I had to take initiative and I have no idea how to make the convo engaging. 🙁
I suddenly begin to regret ghosting/giving half assed replies to all the dudes that matched w me or replied to my prompts or sent flowers LOL I think I’m getting karma rn :(((( (fyi I’m using CMB)
Note: I’m a girl. I set my preference to guys only for like a few weeks, then I paused the app cos I got catfished and was traumatised by it. Only came back like a few days ago but set to both genders this time round and I also not very good looking so don’t try to find me haha
Pls don’t attack me heh.
Here are what netizens think
- Welcome to the guy’s pov of matching with girls. I read wrongly at first thinking you went on a first date and getting ghosted afterwards.
To match and get ghosted without any chances of going on a date is like 80-90% of what most guys experience. Unless you’re rich, famous, f-ing good looking, or any of the combination. - Srsly, guys who can’t communicate yet wants to go on a date are such market spoilers. Like, if the date doesn’t work out for whatever reason, just try to have fun and have a good conversation man. Not like it’s a blind-pre-arranged-marriage-date smh.
- Haha I have learned recently through a bi friend that this is pretty common for y’all. You’re basically going through what we guys have to go through ALL THE TIME.
The difference is, you’re so accustomed to not having to chase/do any work when matching guys, and you’re just as hapless (maybe more) when chatting with pretty girls as we are.
My friend honestly had a shockingly awful game when I saw her trying to date girls on apps, which she was blissfully unaware of because literally anything works with guys.
We laugh at the dumbest nonsense and nod along to all nonsense (no offence) 😛 Had to guide her on the how to be shameless/assertive/make moves like a dude because she was honestly getting nowhere on her own.
Welcome to our world 😉 There’s no easy solution, only practice. Or Rule 1/2, be pretty (girls have much higher standards vs guys)
