GOVT CONSIDERS ALLOWING CATS IN HDB FLATS, AVS SEEKING FEEDBACK FROM PUBLIC

The Singapore government is considering allowing cats in HDB flats, and Nee Soon MP Louis Ng shared the updates on his Facebook.

Ng said that he had been “pushing for this for more than a quarter of my life,’ campaigning for it in parliament and finding support from Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan Jin and president of Singapore’s Law Society Adrian Tan.

– Expanding the existing pet dog licensing and microchipping scheme to include pet cats.

– Extending the Trap-Neuter-Rehome/Release-Manage (TNRM) programme for free-roaming dogs to community cats.

– New engagement and outreach programmes to promote responsible cat ownership, the adoption of cats, and responsible caregiving for community cats.
