A heroic Grab delivery rider in Thailand has captured hearts after bravely entering a burning condominium to save a trapped cat, administering life-saving CPR to bring the animal back to life.
Condo Fire in Bangkok Spurs Quick Action
On July 21, a fire broke out in a second-floor unit of a condominium in Nonthaburi, Bangkok, while the owner was away on a work trip. Amid the emergency, the Grab rider — who also volunteers as a firefighter — sprang into action upon learning that a cat was still inside the smoke-filled apartment.
Without hesitation, he rushed into the dangerous environment and successfully retrieved the unconscious grey tabby. Once outside, the rider immediately began performing CPR on the cat, determined to save its life.
Emotional CPR Rescue Captured on Video
Footage shared on social media shows the rider gently compressing the cat’s chest on the pavement as concerned bystanders looked on. Professional medical personnel soon arrived and continued administering oxygen and CPR. The rider was later seen accompanying firefighters on a motorcycle, carefully holding the cat as they sped to a nearby veterinary clinic for emergency treatment.
The rider later commented on the viral TikTok video, stating in Thai, “I’m the rider. The little one made it to the vet and is safe now.”
Community Praises Selfless Act
The cat’s owner was out of town during the fire, highlighting the critical timing of the rider’s intervention. The story has since spread widely across Thailand and beyond, with netizens applauding the rider’s courage and compassion towards animals.
This inspiring rescue serves as a powerful reminder of everyday heroes among delivery workers and volunteers risking their own safety to protect others, both human and animal alike.
