He had attempted to take a video of a woman at Bedok Reservoir MRT station, and the victim called the police after suspecting she had been filmed.

Liew, who is a fresh graduate who had just started working, had taken so many upskirt videos of multiple women that he had lost count of the exact number of victims that he had filmed.

What happened?

Liew’s latest offence happened on 17 July earlier this year, when he first saw the 26-year-old victim at MacPherson MRT station while on his way home – he sat next to her inside the train.

He then glanced at her repeatedly as he found her attractive.

The two then alighted at Bedok Reservoir MRT and he then took an upskirt video of her at around 9.45pm, when she was riding the escalator up and he was 2 steps behind her.

He raised his right leg up one step on the escalator and placed his phone on top of his right knee, facing the camera upwards towards the inside of her skirt.

The victim felt a slight brush on her right thigh and turned around, she then saw Liew’s phone – she wanted to confront him by waiting at the MRT gantry.

Realised he may have been caught

Liew realised that he may have been caught and he then loitered around the escalator to delete the video.

The victim pretended to leave the MRT station in an attempt to lure him but eventually, she called the police.

Liew was tracked down by the police but he turned himself in for investigations and later admitted to the police that he had taken upskirt videos before but can’t remember how many times he had committed the crime.

He used the videos to satisfy his own urges before deleting them.
