i used to drink some alcohol before college/school so I wouldn’t be socially anxious.
I’ve always been a socially anxious person, and it was especially hard in school with all the people and in the classroom, felt like I was being watched, and found it difficult to keep the flow of conversation or talk to people without seizing up or not knowing what to say.
So what did genius me do? Well I noticed that in parties and a night out alcohol would obviously mellow me out, and make me into a massive extrovert who could talk for days.
And so I figured, that if I drink a small amount of alcohol before school each day I could eradicate that social anxiety just enough so I can flow much more better socially.
I think it kinda worked at first, but I ended up trying to see how much I could drink to get all the anxiety away. It’d be like a can of cider in the morning before I got there.
I realize how unhealthy and ridiculous of a thing it was to do, and I’d probably be better off just taking anti-anxiety medication back then if it was that bad.
