A guy shared a story of an encounter which he once had in the gym while he was hitting on a woman who looks around the same age as him when masked on.
He shares that he usually sees the woman with a older looking gentleman working out together and thought that he was her father but after hitting on the woman, he realises his mistake and that he is actually her father.
Here is the story
“I was at the gym, per usual, when I see this cute girl with an older gentlemen starting their exercises near me.
From my point of view (I’m 19) the girl, who was wearing a mask, looked to be around my age. The guy she was with had grey hair and wrinkles and looked to be in his early 50’s or so.
I mistakenly presume him to be her dad. He goes and does his own thing, when me an her are still exercising in relatively close proximity.
Naturally we make pretty intense eye contact and I smile at her. When I finished my exercise I walk up to her to make small talk, she was friendly but a little weirded out by the convo.
She takes her mask off to clarify something and she visibly looks a lot older now, maybe mid 30’s (def not 19).
Anyways I strike up the question, “the guy you were with, is he your father?” To which he replies “No, that’s my husband” and then “why do you ask”.
I’m like “I just thought you were cute” she replies “oh sorry”
Awkward. I walk away kind of laughing because I’m fucking baffled, I literally broke down laughing for no reason while doing my next exercise bicep curls (maybe some kind of coping mechanism).
Maybe I’m a psychopath but when her husband came back she was presumably telling her husband about the extraordinary conversation she had experience while pointing in my general direction.
I smiled back and gave some sort of “my bad bro” wave.
Honestly I’m not even embarrassed, when I probably should be, this is the funniest thing to happen to me all year.”
