A netizen shared how he received a text from an old friend that he hasn’t seen since his secondary school days, asking to catch up.
But his old friend actually just wanted to close his sale and sell him insurance.
Here is the story:
“I have a lot of friends that I haven’t seen for more than 10 years.
A lot of them are now working in insurance as insurance agents, and I keep seeing them post motivational quotes about working hard and playing hard on their Instagram.
It seems like the insurance industry is getting quite saturated ah, 7 out of 10 of my friends are selling insurance.
The competition must be high, with almost everyone fighting to close insurance sales.
I received a text from one of my old friends whom I was very close with in secondary school, we haven’t met for more than 10 years after we finished O Levels.
He asked me how I was doing and wanted to catch up, I agreed.
And so we met up for lunch and he asked me what I was doing, I told him I was a mechanical engineer and he said that he is now working as an insurance agent.
He asked me how has life been going for me and before I could finish, he cut me off and said that insurance changed his life.
He then asked me about my insurance coverage and introduced some insurance and savings plans to me.
I asked him whether he wanted to catch up or sell insurance to me, and he said both.
I told him that I will think about the insurance plans that he introduced to me and after lunch, I left.
A few weeks later, I got another text from another old friend of mine from the army.
He was also working as an insurance agent and wanted to meet me for some drinks.
Needless to say, any of my old friends who are insurance agents, I stopped meeting or replying their messages.”
