Haven’t had intercourse for + 7 years, how do I get back to it

30 M, haven’t slept with anyone for + 7 years (needed time to recover from my previous relationship which lasted 8 years, then I didn’t feel any urge and occasionally pleasured myself about 2/3 times a month).

Recently I’m starting to feel the urge again, and I’m feeling that I want to find a female partner.

But I’m kinda scared, it’s been so long since my last time, and I’m worried about being under-experienced for my age.

1. Build a connection with someone nice and be open with a new partner about the fact you’re out of practice. A nice and patient person won’t care. It’s entirely possible to be experienced and awful in bed (if you’re selfish and/or oblivious to your partner’s needs) and the reverse is possible too.
2. I went through the exact same thing. I had a few partners and, for reasons too boring to explain, I went almost 8 years without intimacy. When I started dating again I had a ton of anxiety. However, the first time again I was open and honest with my partner and she was completely understanding. 4. As a woman I’m saying that any woman that would make you feel bad about being out of practice is not a woman you want to waste time on. It’s fine for a woman to guide you or instruct you on what she likes but if she’s expecting you to read her mind while she says nothing then that’s on her, not you. It’s been at least 6 years for me and while I also have concerns about jumping back in I will not waste my time on any guy that would make me feel bad for being out of practice. Or for not reading his mind.
