GUY’S FATHER GOT A NEW GF, BRAIN GETS HIJACKED BY HORMONES WHEN HE SEES HER

My father’s mind has been hijacked by his hormones

My father found a new girlfriend not so long ago, and how he has changed is almost ridiculous. All that matters in his life now is just her. When I see him with her, he is just like a teenager that is high on some brain chemicals.

It seems an odd thing that so much time, energy and money is being spent just to fulfil a basic need. When you see people chasing after each other, ignoring everything else, it sometimes looks like complete madness.

I don’t have an issue with it like that. It just that as a spectator this looks like someone going mad. He is a completely different person, and that is okay.

But this is just so strange to see when it’s your father. He suddenly sacrifices all his time and energy just for her. And how sweet he suddenly is when she’s there.

I’m reminded of this quote by Sadhguru I saw:

“When you were a child, what reproductive organs someone had did not matter to you. But the moment hormones started playing within you, you cannot think of the world beyond that. Your whole intelligence has been completely hijacked by your hormones.”

Definitely his intelligence has been hijacked.

  1. Ugh. My mom is like this every time she dates someone new. It’s like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. She dates people for a long time then goes a long time without. But, she’s in her 60s and has the emotional maturity of a boy crazy teenager with raging hormones. I am so sorry. All I can do is commiserate.
  2. I’ve seen this in my entire family. Every one of my siblings got into a relationship, and they immediately became withdrawn. I can see it in myself as well. The person you’re with becomes your primary focus and everything and everyone becomes secondary.
I have a sister that got a boyfriend and immediately changed into a complete monster, who would lie, steal and destroy when before she was so kind, caring, compassionate and fun to be around.
