HOMEOWNER FINED $5,000 AFTER BEING CAUGHT HOSTING 16 OTHERS @ COMPASSVALE FLAT DURING CB

A couple has been fined for $5,000 after they were found guilty of breaching the circuit breaker measure on the 08 of May 2020. The couple has been caught hosting 16 other individuals at their home located at Compassvale Crescent.

The 18 individuals including the couple aged between 18 to 37 were charged in court between 22 July to 24 July 2020.

Leong Chee Mun, 37 was fined $5,000 after pleading guilty to an offence under the Temporary COVID-19 Act. However, the defence counsel has asked for a $4,000 fine instead arguing that the gathering was a private event.

For each of his offence, Leong could be jailed for up to 6 months and a fine up to $10,000. The penalty will double for repeated offenders.

On the other hand, the co-host Cassie Ong Shi Hong 32, was fined $4,000 on the 26 of August 2020.
