In a marketing perspective, that is actually quite brilliant.
Why is it brilliant? Huawei is using a Type C to charge whereas the iPhone requires the Lightning cable. In terms of phone rankings, Huawei can afford to do this marketing stunt as they have currently the fastest growing mobile company in the market. Other than that, Deliveroo also did a similar stunt for the people at the queue.
