Eight cut pieces of rhino horns transiting through Changi Airport were seized yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, AVA worked with the Singapore Customs and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to investigate. We inspected the luggage of a 29-year-old Vietnamese man flying from Dubai to Laos via Changi Airport and found the cut rhino horn pieces.
In Singapore, it is an offence to illegally import and export/ re-export, transit, possess, sell, offer/advertise for sale or display to public any illegal wildlife species protected under CITES.
