An Indian couple chartered a passenger plane to hold their wedding with over 160 guests on board the SpiceJet flight, taking off from Madurai.
The guests disregarded Covid-19 protocols and didn’t wear masks or practice social distancing, despite being told to do so repeatedly by the crew.
The Boeing 737 plane was chartered by a Madurai travel agent for a “joy ride”, and the guests were briefed on the Covid-19 guidelines to be adhered, telling them that the airline disallowed any activities to be performed on board the plane.
Many of the passengers left their seats to crowd around the couple.
Announcements calling for the passengers to be seated went on deaf ears.
