All Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) turning 55 years of age on or after Jan 1, 2017, should re-register for another National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) from January one year from now, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) reported on Monday (Nov 14).

A similar necessity will likewise apply to the individuals who have not been issued with a substitution NRIC in the 10 years before their 55th birthday, the office said amid a preparation.
The re-enrollment will cost S$10 for Singapore nationals and S$50 for PRs, ICA said, which is a similar sum for NRIC enlistment at age 15 and re-enlistment at age 30.
