I had been living in Singapore all my life, but I had never ventured outside of the city before.

So, when my friend asked me to join him on a trip to Johor Bahru, I was intrigued. I had heard stories of the bustling city and wanted to experience it for myself.

We arrived in Johor Bahru late in the evening, and the streets were alive with activity. My friend and I decided to go to the local pub to get a drink. We took a seat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers. It was then that I noticed a woman sitting at the other end of the bar. She was a hostess, wearing a tight dress and high heels.

The woman approached us and asked if we wanted her service.

My friend and I politely declined and continued to sip our beers. As we were talking, the woman started to tell us her story. She said that she had been working in the pub industry for the past five years to support her single-mom life. The money she earned was barely enough to make ends meet, and she was struggling to get by.

The woman asked us if we could help her out by giving her some ladies drink. She said she would be very grateful if we could just help her with a few dollars to make ends meet. My friend and I looked at each other and decided to do our part to help her out of her situation. We gave her some money and she thanked us profusely.

The woman then proceeded to tell us her story in more detail. She said that she had been working in the pub industry since she was a teenager, and she had never been able to break out of the cycle. She had dreams of going to uni and having a better life, but she knew that was out of her reach due to her meager income.

She then asked me for Wechat and asked if she is attractive. I replied yes, she asked if we could be friends and I agreed.

Soon after she kept texting and texting and asked if she could be my girlfriend. We then go further and further. Eventually, she wanted to leave the pub and asked if I can rescue her from nightlife (Rescue meaning take care of her)

I told her no and said I couldn’t even afford to take care of myself. She has the perception that Singaporeans are rich and money grew on trees.
