Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Management was charged in court earlier today (12 January) with two Covid-19 regulations breaches.
They are being accused of allowing 4 customers to enter their outlet at Far East Plaza on 10 July last year at about 9.45pm, without checking if the patrons had covid symptoms.
The restaurant was supposed to establish and apply procedures and controls to make sure that the customers were assessed for Covid-19 symptoms.
They are also being accused to failing to take steps to make sure that the same four customers remained in groups of not more than two.
The four customers were:
- Muhammad Ariffin Sahdan,
- Shehzel Selamat,
- Nyla Muhammad Kamal and
- Muhammad Hidayat Rahmad.
KFC sent their operations director Jonathan Liew Tiong Siew as their representative to receive the charges on behalf of the company, and he asked for a week’s adjournment to seek legal advice, with the case then adjourned to 21 January.
