Mockridge Philip Richard, a 54-year-old British national who is a Singapore PR, was charged in court earlier today after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
He was originally supposed to be charged in December for not wearing a mask at a few locations, but he failed to show up in court.
The arrest warrant was then issued on Tuesday and he was then remanded and showed up in court today via video link.
Mockridge was charged with failing to wear a mask on 3 occasions, namely:
- At Sengkang MRT station on 26 November at around 10.15om.
- At Serangoon MRT station on 19 Demceber 2020 at around 10.50pm
- At 180 Kitchener Road on 16 May 2021 at around 8.50pm.
The prosecutor then asked the judge for a week’s adjournment to complete investigations as well as for the Attorney-General’s Chambers to submit additional charges – Mockridge had also allegedly committed further offences on 11 January.
Mockridge asked the judge if he could pay his bail himself, to which District Judge Lorraine Ho told him that he couldn’t, he needs to find a Singaporean bailor to do so.
His case has been adjourned to 19 January.
