KIASU S’POREANS RUSHED TO GRAB THEIR BAGS WHILE THE PLANE WAS STILL MOVING

A netizen shared how he was on a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight from Bangkok to Singapore on 23 August, when he witnessed first-hand the ugliness of Kiasu-ism.

The passengers on the plane, who were apparently Singaporeans (according to the netizen who took the video), rushed to grab their baggage from the overhead compartments whilst the plane was still taxiing on the runway.

The aircraft was still moving on the Changi Airport runway at about 4.15pm, when the passengers got up from their seats to go for their luggage.

Two of the flight stewardesses were seen in the video telling the passengers to take a seat.

The passengers in the premium economy cabin then returned to their seats, except for a man in a grey striped shirt, who eventually returned to his seat later.

However, another woman in black then stood up to go for her overhead luggage despite the flight crew’s instructions.

A voice in the background could be heard lamenting: “All those Singaporeans…”
