With discussions of the elections in full steam over the past few days, a doctored image of Kong Hee, 56, has meen making the rounds on social media.
It’s apparently a photo of Kong Hee in a white polo tee with the People’s Action Party’s (PAP) logo superimposed onto it.
Yesterday (July 8), the City Harvest Church released a statement to its members stating that they are aware of the circulation of the “digitally altered” picture online.
The church said that: “Pastor Kong and City Harvest Church are not, and have never been, part of or in any way associated with any political party or institution.”
They also added that Kong Hee was “not involved in campaigning for or on behalf of any political party during this 2020 General Elections, nor in any other general elections”.
A police report has since been made and Facebook has been informed to remove all traces of the photo online on the platform.
