A South Korean man was drunk in Clark Quay and assaulted two locals at Clark Quay.
Earlier today (Jan 21), 36-year-old Kim Eui Woong pleaded guilty to three charges and was fined $7,300.
What Happened?
Back in March 2021, Kim drank beer, soju and went to Club Illusion to drink a bottle of whisky.
After he left the place, he started to curse at Law Beng Chong and Ms Lim Seong Yeon before attacking them. He pushed Lim to the ground and punched Law in the face.
The Straits Times reported that the police were on scene later and Kim did not cooperate. He continued to shout and curse and even told the Police officer that he wanted to go to jail three times.
He even threatened to sue all of them.
Penalties
According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
A person who speaks, behaves or communicates in any indecent, threatening, abusive or insulting manner towards a public servant when he or she is executing his duty is guilty of an offence, punishable with a maximum sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment and/or fine of $5,000
