The People’s Action Party (PAP) has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong as the new Deputy Secretary General of the party, replacing Heng Swee Keat who has been appointed the Chairman.
The 37th central executive committee (CEC) met on 26 November, as they also co-opted 4 new members, including Ng Chee Meng and Tan See Leng.
Minister of Education Chan Chun Sing and Minister of National Development Desmond Lee have also been appointed as Assistant Secretary Generals.
PAP’s statement
The 37th PAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) met on Saturday, 26 November 2022 and co-opted four additional members:

The CEC has made a new Deputy Secretary-General appointment, in addition to two Assistant Secretary General appointments, in line with plans for the party leadership transition. The Deputy Sec-Gen will exercise the roles and responsibilities of the Sec-Gen, in the absence of the Sec-Gen.
