LIST OF PRESCHOOLS – ACTIVE CLUSTER FOR HAND FOOT MOUTH DISEASES

ECDA has sent out an advisory to all child care centers to be mindful and take precautionary measures. While some previous HFMD strains were mild, we are gravely concerned that the current HFMD strain could be deadly. The newspapers reported the spread of the deadly HFMD strain Enterovirus 71 (EV71) on 31 Jul 2018 (refer to https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/17-month-old-baby-dies-from-hfmd-in-penang-first-fatality-in-malaysia), following the death of 2 toddlers in Malaysia due to HFMD.

We will continue to monitor and update you of the local HFMD situation.
