LOCAL HEROINE PASSED AWAY DEDICATED HER LIFE TO SAVING ANIMALS

66-year-old, Lee Siew Ying, A woman that dedicated her life in saving stray dogs and cats have passed away on the 17 November 2019.

In the span of 20 years, she spends over $3 million which directly help tens of thousands of stray animals in the street. She first set up a sanctuary for her animals in 1998.

The shelter is currently known as Mettacats & Dogs Sanctuary

At one point she was taking care of 500 cats and 120 dogs.

In April 2019, she suddenly fainted and was sent to the hospital, she was later diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer and she had to go under chemotherapy. Even when she was having her treatments at the hospital she would miss the animals at the shelter. She was still feeding and helping the animals despite her illness.

Even while she was unwell, she continued to help the animal shelter by sewing a catnip mouse(played by cats) to help raise funds for the shelter.

In her 20 years of helping the animals, she had exhausted her savings and spend over $3 million. Her selfless act for saving animals deserved to be called a heroine.

A real hero!
