Yuni Suvi Yanti Sitepu, a 36-year-old domestic helper was jailed six months on Wednesday (19 August) for kicking an intellectually disabled eight-year-old boy who was in her care.
Her actions were caught on camera by the child’s mother was saw the footage live. Yuni pleaded guilty to ill-treating the child who was intellectually disabled. Yuni was aware of this child’s disability prior to her working for the family.
The 36-year-old mother viewed live footage of her CCTV and saw the Yuni singing and posing in front of her mobile phone. The maid then shoved the boy aside before assaulting her son. Yuni was seen kicking her son at intervals, targeting his face which caused him to fall backwards. She continued to kick the boy as he fell and laid on his back.
That night, the woman lodged a police report and brought her child to the hospital the next day. Due to the incident, the boy suffered bruising on his cheek, thighs and abrasion on his upper back.
