Meenashi Sanjay Kumar Singh, 34, was jailed for four months on Wednesday (19 Aug) after pleading guilty to using a ruler to beat the face of Sherley Medya, 30, who was her maid, with a wooden ruler.

Meenashi used a ruler to hit Shirley’s left cheek several times before slapping her face and her lips with her hand. She even pushed Shirley on her chest which caused her to hit the master bedroom door.
After the incident, Shirley packed her belongings and fled from the unit. She seemed help from the Ministry of Manpower and the police were informed subsequently.
Meenashi stated her actions were due to her being upset as her domestic helper failed to keep her son’s diaper clean.
