A 47-year-old man in Thailand, Somkuan Songkhot, was admiring a Porsche that was parked on the road, when the owners of the car brutally assaulted him for no reason on 15 October, according to Thaiger.
He ended up in a coma and is in critical condition following the unprovoked assault.
What happened?
Songkhot was driving home with his wife Lakhana Salao after picking her up from her cleaning job at Central Mall at Koh Samui, in the Surat Thani province.
They then rode past a white Porsche and Songkhot then told his wife “that car is so beautiful, when can we afford a car like that?”
They then followed the car to admire it for a while more before passing it.
The Porsche then started following them and tailgating the couple’s motorcycle, honking at them until they stopped at the side of the road.
The Porsche driver then blocked off traffic by parking perpendicular to the road, and Somkuan noticed that the two inhabitants of the Porsche were foreigners, and he thought they were lost.
He then approached them and asked them in English if they needed help, and a man in a black shirt then alighted from the passenger side of the car and attacked him.
he was seen kicking and punching Songkhot in the face, knocking him into the ground where he hit his head hard against the pavement and fell unconscious.
The 28 and 34-year-old Frenchmen were then arrested and charged by the police and their car was also seized, and they confessed to attacking the victim.
Songkhot was rushed to Koh Samui Hospital where he went through emergency brain surgery for a brain haemorrhage and is currently in critical condition.
