MAN ALLEGEDLY THREW KNIFE AT POLICE OFFICER AT BUKIT BATOK

The Singapore Police said that a 27-year-old man is due to be charged in court today for possession of an offensive weapon and voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty.

The police said that they received a call for help on Monday night at about 9.10pm.

The man allegedly had a knife and was shouting for somebody at Bukit Batok West Ave 8.

He was then approached by the police, and he then pulled out the knife and threw it at one of them.

The knife hit the police officer in the cheek.

The man was later arrested and the weapon seized, along with 5 other knives that were found in his home.

Preliminary investigations do not indicate it to be an act of terror.
