MAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE CASES OF CHEATING, SELLS “NTUC COUPONS” BUT FAILED TO DELIVER

A 26-year-old guy has been detained for his alleged role in several cases of cheating.

Between March 19 and March 26, 2022, the Police received several reports from individuals who claimed to have been duped by an internet vendor who offered the sale of cheap NTUC coupons. However, The online merchant did not send the coupons after the victims paid.

On 5 April 2022, the Police received a report from a victim who had not gotten the return of a rental digital camera from the suspect after the rental period expired. The suspect reportedly kept the camera and sold it to a 2nd hand dealer.

Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted investigations and apprehended the individual on April 7, 2022.

As a case exhibit, one digital camera was taken. According to preliminary investigations, the individual is reportedly implicated in other similar crimes.

On April 9, 2022, the individual will be charged in court for cheating under Section 420 of the Penal Code 1871. The offense is punishable by up to ten years in jail and a fine.
