The 47-year-old man pleaded guilty to his charges under the Infectious Diseases Act.

According to the court documents, the man visited the doctor on the 29 Apr 2020 for cough and body aches. He was given a 5 days medical leave from 29 Apr 2020 to 03 May 2020. He was told not to leave his hostel unless for a medical reason.

However, the man did not follow the doctor’s instruction and proceeded to run errands on multiple occasions.

During his court hearing, the prosecutor requested the court to jail him for 3 weeks as he had lied to the Ministry of Health officers that he only left his hostel once during his medical leave.
