A Facebook user going by the alias of Dickens Cider, recently shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page that he was charged an extra $42.80 by Grab even after he had used 17,000 points to waive off his $34 JustGrab ride.
He was however informed by Grab that it is a ‘smart’ feature which will prompt Grab riders to accept other ride forms like Grab Premium in the case where there are lesser Grab drivers available on the road for the service type he wants but he claimed that he did not see the prompt.
He also claims that Grab has insisted that he had chose Grab Premium at the beginning and when he asked for a copy of the system log as a proof, Grab did not want to provide him the log.
He is insisting for a refund from Grab.
Here is what he said
‘Raising awareness against Grab.
I had chosen a JustGrab at $34 and redeemed 17,000 points to cover the ride. A ride was found within seconds and I had to rush out to the pick up point. After I’m home and check the receipt, I was charged an additional $42.80 on my card.
Grab’s customer service as well as its manager are telling me that this is a smart feature. When there are lesser driver on the road, you are prompted to accept if you want to include other forms of ride e.g. GrabPremium. I did NOT see that prompt. In addtion, I had asked for a copy of the system log as a proof. Grab refused to provide that to me.
Furthermore, Grab is telling me that there is no glitch and I had chosen GrabPremium from the beginning. Grab, please, if I had chosen GrabPremium at first, why did your “Super” app only exchanged 17,000 points for $34?
I want my refund of $42.80, Grab and I am not sorry for making this public.’
