A netizen shared a story about a man who shows off his riches to him but ends up a fraud trying to bluff his friends for money.

Here is the story:

I have this friend let’s just say his name is ‘Chris’. We met him sometime back while we were drinking. He gave us a background that he was raised in the USA and came back to Singapore about 10 years ago.

We thought that his an “ah sia kia” but ends up he is a “pu bor kia”. He would often show off by asking us to dine at Marina Bay Sands and proudly say that the meals at the coffee shop are too cheap for him. He even told us that he stays in a condominium near MBS.

Then he told us that his father works in the oil industry and money is something he never has to worry about.

He convinced one of my friends to refer him to work and get an interview because he was too bored at home for being a “rich man’s son”. His story started to break apart after filling up the personal particulars. In the particulars form, it states that he stays at Jurong East and not at Marina Bay.

He failed to secure the job and we kept quiet even after knowing his secret, few weeks later he texted me and asked if I can lend him $20 to buy cigarettes.

I replied to him: hello, you stay “MBS” I stay Yishun leh, u need $20 meh. sorry lah I poor.

He said: MBS is my father buy one mah not me I just stay there.

I said: oh really ah, what’s your postal code.

He could not reply to me and realised his story is gone case.
