A man who was dissatisfied with the project blocking the road in Geylang. Drove his car and rammed into a foreman and resulted in breaking his right elbow.
59-year-old Lin Ji was sentenced to six weeks in prison and his driving licence was suspended with immediate effect for 1 year on Monday (July 25).
Background
According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident happened back at about 11:22 AM on August 14, 2020, Lin Ji drove his Lexus luxury car into an alley next to Lane 27A and realise that his way was blocked.
There was a construction site on the side of the alley, and workers have set up barricades on the roadway to block the passage. Lin Ji wanted to remove the barricade to move through and got into an argument with a 47-year-old foreman.
After the argument, he rushed back to his car and stepped on the accelerator to knock the foreman to the ground before driving away
The foreman was admitted to the hospital with a fractured elbow in his right hand, and Lin Ji went to the police station afterwards to file a record and was sentenced to prison.
For the offence of dangerous driving under Section 64(1) of the Road Traffic Act, an offender may be liable to a fine not exceeding $5,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both.
