A video of an accident emerged online showing a car going off course and crashing into another car that was parked at the side of the road along Geylang Road.
The video was shared on Telegram group SGRoad Blocks/Traffic News.
The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to an accident on 28 April at about 3.40am at the junction of Geylang Road heading towards Kallang Road after Lorong 37 Geylang, beside a coffeeshop.
A black car was parked in a parallel parking lot beside the coffeeshop, as seen in the CCTV footage, and a couple of customers were seen in the video seated beside the road and having their supper at the coffeeshop.
As they were eating, a white car suddenly swerved off the road and crashed into the parked car, resulting in the parked car being pushed onto the pavement, grazing one of the pillars and almost hitting a customer nearby.
The impact was so great that the airbag of the white car was deployed, and a photo of the aftermath that was shared on the Telegram group showed that the black car that was hit was a Mercedes Benz.
The customers who were eating at the time were startled by the sudden crash and immediately jumped to their feet to get away from the stricken vehicles.
None of the customers were physically hurt in the accident, with the police confirmed in a statement that no injuries were reported in the incident.
The police also added that a 30-year-old male driver is currently assisting the police with their investigations into the incident.
