MAN IN HIS 20s MISTAKEN AS ‘UNCLE’ BECAUSE OF HIS HAIR LOSS PROBLEMS

I’m in my 20s and already showing some signs of aging.

Prior to this, I have already have hair loss and now, I find that wrinkles have appeared around my eyes and my face skin has started to sag.

I look so different from my friends of similar age and I have a hard time accepting it. While the 20s is supposed to be the prime of a person’s life physically, it has affected my mental health almost every day thinking about it.

I was mistaken for a mid aged uncle often and it hurts me. I am considering cosmetic/ aesthetic treatments to fix my hair and face once and for all and I have gotten some quotes. Other than the initial treatment, the doctors said continued maintenance is needed to keep the new look and the most conservative quote runs into the low 5 figures, which is more than 70% of my savings.

I initially have plans to use the savings for future house/ settling down (no gf right now due to my looks) but this issue keeps clouding my mind and I’m in no state to even start a rs at this point.

Is it worth trading my money for looks in my case?

Here are what netizens think:

  • If you rely on looks for income, yes. If you are bothered by it, which you are (I guess), can spend some on it loh. But if it’s genetic, can’t fight it one.
  • Hair loss, see if your shampoo is suitable for you and try Omega 3 supplements. PM me for the brand. I been eating it for half a month, so far no need to vacuum floor everyday anymore.
  • Exercise, skin care regime, enough sleep, positive mindset (less complain , comparing, grudge, focus on personal wellbeing) and good quality food might help.
  • take care of yourself first. start with a basic skincare routine to cleanse & moisturise your face. about your hair – do what u can within your financial means. if not, save up for a while more before u start on treatment. in the meantime, do some research regarding your scalp and see what products u can use to salvage your hair. sometimes, the simplest solution is right in front of you. all the best to you. don’t stress, just try your best
