According to a media release, 2 men were arrested along with a 13-year-old teenager investigated for their suspected involvement in fraud and robbery.
According to a statement released by the police on the 06 Jun 2020, the police were alerted after the victim has been robbed of his mobile phone and E-scooter at Geylang Lor 10 by a stranger.
After an initial investigation, a 30-year-old man and a 32-year old man was arrested on the 02 Jun and 03 Jun 2020 respectively.
The victim is a second-hand mobile phone dealer, on the day of the incident the 30-year-old accuse and the 13-year-old teenager had initiated a meet up for mobile phone purchase. Halfway through the meeting, the 32-year-old accuse appears and snatched the mobile phone away along with the victim’s E-scooter.
Investigation is ongoing.
if convicted, they could face a jail term up to 10 years and fine.
