MAN SAY KTV IS HIS FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, PRC HOSTESS MAKE HIM FEEL ALIVE AGAIN

I know the moral police on this sub are going to come for me, but I need to be honest. I’m 37 this year, working a high-pressure Finance job, and every day feels like I’m just waiting for the clock to run out.

At home, life is static. My relationship with my wife has become… architectural. It’s like living in a museum. Everything is “don’t touch this,” “did you pay for that,” and “why are you home late?” There’s no heat, just cold exhibits of a life we built ten years ago. It’s quiet, dusty, and honestly, a bit suffocating.

But the moment I step into that KTV and the China hostesses walk in? Everything changes. People think it’s just about the “service,” but it’s the energy, lah. They laugh at my jokes like I’m the funniest guy in Singapore. They pour my drinks and look at me with so much “admiration” (even if I know it’s paid for) that I literally feel like a teenager again. That 18-year-old confidence comes rushing back.

The vibe is electric. When we’re doing late-night dice games or singing those high-energy mando-pop hits, the “shiok” level is off the charts. I’m not kidding—when the bass is thumping and they’re cheering for me, I feel so much euphoria that I literally roll my eyes backward. It’s a total sensory overload.

For those few hours, I’m not a stressed-out manager or a tired husband. I’m young, I’m alive, and I’m the main character. Then the lights go up, I pay the bill, and I head back to the museum.

Call me pathetic, call me a “creepy uncle,” but that KTV room is the only place I feel like I’m actually breathing. Anyone else living this double life?
