MAN SAYS YOUNGSTERS WHO DON’T SAVE & INVEST WILL REGRET IT WHEN THEY ARE OLD

As I get older and older and take a closer look at my life, the more I realize I suck at holding onto money. The more fearful I become I will end up homeless or be stuck working for the rest of my life.

As it turns out youngsters are having it worse than me.

Youngsters have problem’s saving money, despite having a decent job, you’re likely just spending it on impulse buys, eating out, etc. Fix this by taking the “pay yourself first” approach. Just set up an automatic withdrawal from your account every week/month into a savings account (or set up your payroll at work to deposit a per cent there). You will be guaranteed to save that amount every month.

Just pretend it’s not there and don’t touch it. Wait til there’s $10k in there, then come back and ask what to do with the $10k. If you touch it for any reason that is not an emergency, you’re wasting all the effort.

Second, if your work offers you bonus, you should be contributing at least to the match and not even touch it, or else you’re throwing away 7.6% of your income each year (or whatever the match is).

Also, if you don’t like working, that’s cool. Just decide if you’d rather be a bum instead. Your choice.

Just save and invest when you can, my parents did not did it and they are still working to an old age. If you do not know how to invest as least save a fixed percentage of your savings.

Don’t get old and start to regret working to your death.
