58-year-old Lau Kian Tiong, pleaded guilty to 2 counts of sexual exposure and was sentenced to 9 weeks imprisonment on 30 June.
One other charge of transmitting obscene material was considered during his sentencing.
The man was frustrated with an investigation officer for allegedly not attending to his case from several years ago, and emailed the female officer photos of his private parts.
The identity of the 36-year-old policewoman cannot be named due to a court order protecting her identity.
Background
Lau said that in 2018, he went to Central Police Division HQ after the officer instructed him to report there for an interview over an alleged offence.
The officer was assigned to his case of voluntarily causing hurt, and Lau alleged that she didn’t attend to him, which annoyed him.
Lau then sent two photos of his genitals to the policewoman’s official Singaproe Police Force email address on 25 May, telling her to perform oral sex on him.
It was not revealed why he decided to do so three years later.
on 4 June 2021, Lau was spotted loitering and taking photos outside the Orchard Neighbourhood Police Centre and he was then screened by officers.
The officers then realised that a police gazette had been issued for his arrest under the offence of voluntarily causing hurt.
The policewoman handling his case was then contacted, and Lau was then directed to report for another interview 3 days later.
The police officers then checked Lau’s phone and found the two photos of his genitals that he sent to the victim, and Lau then admitted to emailing the victim the photos.
