MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN JAIL AFTER STABBING FLATMATE IN TECK WHYE

A man was recently sentenced to life imprisonment after stabbing his flatmate in Teck Whye Crescent.

The incident happened back in 2017, 52-year-old Mohammad Rosli Abdul Rahim stabbed 35-year-old Mohammad Roslan Zaini in his chest after they had a dispute on Aug 16.

In court, the accused defended that the fatal stabbing was accidental and his defense has since been rejected by the court in November 2021. Rosli also claimed that he was swinging a weapon and the unit was too dark therefore he accidentally stabbed the victim when he stepped forward.

However, forensics examined the wound and said that it is not possible.

How the argument started

The argument started when both parties has an argument on the rental fee, the victim offer Rosli who was homeless than to share his unit with him. However, Rosli felt that the fee was too expensive and started to have an argument with Roslan.

Rosli claimed that the argument escalated and Roslan started cursing his mother which angered him before stabbing Roslan in the heart.

Rosland was also stabbed in his arms and legs.

The incident happened when there were two others in the home, they witness the violence and ran away.

Roslan tried to escape from Roslin as well, he managed to escape from the unit and ran down the stairs but he died soon after at a grass patch nearby.
